Eleven Inches of Snow

This is 11 inches of snow from my angle folks.  Talk about easy licking!

Let me just say.  I had fun today.  Yet, nine and in some places eleven inches of snow does pose some difficulties.
For starts, my
morning "relief" was a bit baffling.  I wandered
around with snow up to my ears trying to figure out how to raise my leg.

Then, I messed up.  Daddy wanted me to
help shovel the driveway in the FRONT yard.  I was so honored.  But I blew it.  I couldn't help it.  This darn Spaniel nose of mine got me in trouble.  Before I knew it I had bounced over mounds of snow to Theo's yard.  I just wanted to visit my neighbor.  But...
.I couldn't stop there.  As I was going around the corner, I was scooped up. Those were not loving words Daddy had for me when he handed me to Mommy.

Then there were those snow dingle berries.  Stuck, just stuck.  And
not in just the neck as shown in the photo people.  Only a warm bath will take care of those.  Don't get me wrong, Mommy gives me great baths but it is all the "No, your not going out now." that I do not like.

With all these minor inconvenience it was still a great day with my girls.  Max and McKenna came to the back yard to skate.  Annie tunneled under the swing seat with me.  Daddy and I watched the Court Kids play in the front yard.  Yes, I'll sleep well tonight with loving thoughts of my family.

I guess I am a UK fan now.  Caroline's jersey has been passed down to me.  It is much cozier than I expected.  That Annie, she does love to put shirts on me.  She just giggles and giggles as I prance around.  I really show off just to get her to laugh more.

I suppose I can cheer Kentucky on.  After all it is Daddy's alma mater and he is my game pal.  I hear they aren't bad.

I am not much of a basketball fan.  The ball is always bouncing and the players hang so close to the ball.  Besides our goal is in the court and I am not allowed in front yard without a leash.

I prefer soccer.  It rolls across the lawn and sometimes is kicked far enough ahead that I can get to it first.  I really love it if the girls leave the
ball outside.  I have my own game when they are not around. ;)

Relaxing

Ohh I am so tired. It has been a long day. First I got up and out of the kennel then I played around a while. Sarah played rope with me.  Daddy fed me, Mommy left the house because I was annoying. Caroline slept and Annie sat with Me. THEN......I got put BACK UP!!!! Why, what for?!? Ohh they where ditching me for the Barnes & Nobles FAMILY FUN DAY! Ahh I think that means all the FAMILY!!! You didn't bring ME!!! The most important FAMILY MEMBER!!! Then they went out to eat at a restaurant without me!!!! How could they!! Now I am out and sitting by Mommy's side. For now.....I am so cute. YES LOVE ME!!  Well at least they brought home a cool book with dogs in it.

Puppy sitting

What a day.  I have a new neighbor.  His name is Scooby and I've been dubbed as his role model.

Today we went over the basics, how to properly sniff at a greeting, rope tug-o-war and some relaxation techniques.

Some things he'll just have to learn for himself, like how to be the perfect dress up pal.

What's a five letter word for......

Mommy and I enjoy sharpening our minds with the daily crossword puzzle.  After a day of in and out of the cold to go potty, chasing ropes, and getting caught with Polly Pockets in my mouth(but the bacon treats to give them up were worth it), I am glad to stimulate my brain on a higher level.

6 DEGREES OF FUN

6 degrees of fun today!  The cold hasn't scared me and my girls.  Annie was even out in her polka dot pajama pants and clogs for a while.  I don't know how she does it without a fur coat.

We slicked up the skating rink, I helped by licking the ice.  Slurpppp.  Tomorrow will be a smell filled day with neighbors and friends coming over to play.

Now I am going crazy wanting to chase those cozy little birds in the bush.  But Mommy is saying no.

Did I mention I got peanut butter from the Brendamellows?  Those are a treat dreamed up by Aunt Brenda in South Carolina.  It is a saltine cracker with peanut butter, marsh mellows, and chocolate chips.  Sure the whole things sounds great, but peanut butter..... If I were a yipee dog I'd be saying Yipee!

Snow much fun

I'm exhausted.  But for good reason. This is my favorite kind of day.  It is a snow day.

I knew something great was about to happen when my girls started getting their snow gear on.  I can't help it, but my hind legs bounce uncontrollably at the sound of snow bibs.

Sarah lathered me in snow. A bit cool, but she is humored by my look.

Annie loves to roll on the trampoline . It tortures me that I cannot get up there too.

Caroline is a pink blur.

We wrestled, we skated, we found warm love in a very cold windy day.

Now I am zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I curl up in my bed tonight appreciating my family.  Last month I was not feeling this way.  They were busy with concerts, shopping, decorating, wrapping and traveling.  I was bored.  They were annoying me so I annoyed them.  I was bad.  I chewed on toys, begged for food, barked in the night and the lowest of lows, I plundered in the bathroom trash.  I am ashamed.

Mommy was not happy with me.  She even seemed glad to leave me with Grammy and Poppy over Christmas.

But somehow families love through the best and worst of times.  I feel forgiven.

And I don't think it is with just me that they do this.  They do it with each other.

For instance, today, I sensed disagreement between Mommy and Sarah.  But at dinner they still laughed together and at bedtime gave each other a hug and said "I love you" at the end of the day.

I'm not sure what the trouble was, I try to stay out of such things.  No matter though, because when the day is done....all is forgiven.

Through the best and worst of times, that is a family.

A Little More About Me

Where did we leave off....ahh, yes...about me.  I am quite entertaining.  I am even better than t.v.  The family likes to make me talk especially when they find me in a human-sitting position.  My accent is refined with a bit of an English flare.

When Mommy is sitting down, I lavish her with kisses on her freshly lotioned toes.  I am very affectionate.  I am.

Sarah's bedroom shoes make a perfect chew toy.  Unfortunately, the best moments with these happen to be when she is doing something she calls math.  I don't think she likes it much so I continue to try to pull her away from it.

Cold days make me spunky.  I looked forward to running Annie around on these days.  She's so cute when she giggles.

Caroline is my insider to forbidden snacks.  I simply park myself near her as she eats and wait for manna from heaven to fall.

Finally, the father.  I've had to work a bit on this relationship.  But he's coming around.  I win him over by sitting with him to watch football.

As you can see, I am an intricate piece in this family.  They depend on me for love, laughter and most of all 100 degrees of warmth.
